Brief
The 2S7 Pion ("peony") or Malka is a Soviet self-propelled 203mm heavy artillery. "2S7" is its GRAU designation. More than 250 units have been built,[citation needed] some sources say 500,[1] others up to 1,000.[4] They were distributed around the former Soviet states in the dissolution of the Soviet Empire.

Description
The 2S7 Pion, delivered from 1976 to the Soviet Army , is based on a modified T-80 tank chassis, with a 203 mm caliber 2A44 external cannon capable of firing more than 2 rounds per minute, for an effective range of 37.5 km with conventional shells and 55.5 km with propelled ammunition.
