Russian Naval Aviation – As of 2015, 22 Su-24M Fencer-Ds were in service with the Russian Navy .
Russian Air Force - Inherited from the Soviet Air Force in 1991, the Russian Fencers found themselves engaged during the first and then the second Chechen war from 1994 to 2000. A total of 4 aircraft were lost during its conflicts. Used again in 2008 in South Ossetia , the Russian Air Force today appears to possess 280 Fencers , including Su-24Ms, Su-24M2s and Su-24MRs. Over the next few years, they should be replaced by
Sukhoi Su-34s .
Angola
Angolan National Air Force - Angola claims to have received 12 Su-24M from Belarus [ ref. desired] , but this is not confirmed. The UN reportedly officially recorded the delivery of at least 1 Su-24 to Angola 6 .

Iran (24)
Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force - EnJanuary 1991, 24 Iraqi Su-24MK Fencer-Ds were transferred to Iran for temporary refuge following attacks on major airfields during Operation Desert Storm . These Iraqi planes were interpreted by the Iranians as a gift from their former adversary, and were seized by the Iranian army.

Sudan (3)
Sudanese Air Force - In 2013 Sudan purchased 12 Fencer-Ds from Belarus 7 . In 2015, only 3 Su-24MKs were transferred to Sudan.
Syria (18)
Syrian Air Force - A total of 22 aircraft were received by Syria, including 20 Su-24MKs from the Soviet Union, and 1 Su-24MK and 1 Su-24MR from Libya 8 . All Su-24MKs were upgraded to the SU-24M2 standard between 2009 and 2013. Today [When?] , in the midst of a civil war, Syria still has 18 aircraft in operation.
Ukraine (11)
Ukrainian Air Force – Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Ukraine reportedly recovered nearly 250 Su-24 Fencer-A , Su-24M Fencer-D and Su-24MR Fencer-E aircraft . Due to the war that has affected the country since 2014, as well as poor maintenance of the aircraft, Ukraine has, in 2015, more than 11 Su-24M.

Design
When the Soviets saw the first images of the American F-111 , in 1964, they became aware of the delay they had in the field of the bomber of penetration at low altitude.
