Russia : Russian Navy and Coastal Defense Force. According to the RIA Novosti agency , at the beginning of 2010 , the 11th Coastal Defense Missile Brigade of the Black Sea Fleet received two batteries from Bastion-P. At the end of that same year, a 3rd mobile battery joined the other two within this unit, located near Anapa , in the Krasnodar region 4 . New systems have reportedly been ordered by the Russian
Ministry of Defense 3 ;
Syria : InSeptember 2010, Russian Defense Minister Anatoly Serdioukov announced that Russia would honor a contract to deliver Yakhont missiles to Syria . Israel and the United States lobbied for the sale not to actually go through, as it would have given the Syrians the ability to destroy ships at supersonic speeds up to 300 km from its coastline. The other concern came from the risk of seeing these missiles fall into the wrong hands, in particular terrorist groups , which are very numerous in the region 5 . The State of Israel is very concerned about this decision to sell to Syria, but says it is ready to "deal with", according to the statements of the Israeli command. According to Lt. Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi, speaking in the Jerusalem Post newspaper , " many attempts to frustrate the contract have been made, but without success " 5 .
Vietnam : Vietnam ordered one or two Bastion-P systems from Russia in 2005 5 . The first Yakhont anti-ship cruise missile battalion was received in 2009 . It was then the first time that the coastal version of the Yakhont was exported to another country, followed by the delivery of the Bastion-P mobile defense system, the delivery of which was completed in 2010 5 .
Venezuela : InNovember 2010, Henry de Jesus Rangel Silva, strategic commander of Venezuela, confirmed the will made by Hugo Chávez in 2009 to want to equip himself, in the near future, with missiles of 300 km range. Like the president, the general did not specify what type of weapons exactly, but the World Arms Trade Analytic Center (WATAC) presumes that it could be either the Club-M or the K-300P Bastion-P 5 .
Bastion arms delivery contracts for Syria and Vietnam were ranked 4 and 5 on Russia's 2011 list of military contracts. The value of the contract with Syria was about 300 million dollars 5 . At the end of 2011, all export contracts had been honored and Vietnam was in discussions with Russia to order new systems, which seems to announce a fairly comfortable export success for this weapon 5 .
Additional information
History
Derived from the P-800 Oniks missile, the coastal system initially had the same designation (Yakhont), but later received the name “Bastion” for export . It was visible for the first time in 2007 , in the form of a K-300P (Bastion-P), then considered a simple improvement of the old Bastion system, intended for export 1 . Its development would have been launched in 1985 , following the need for Russia to have a lighter system and ensuring the relief of the surface-to-surface missiles P-120 Malakhit (SS-N-9 Siren), P-700 Granit (SS -N-19 Shipwreck) and P-80/P-270 Moskit (SS-N-22 Sunburn) 1.
Vehicles
The tractor-erector-launcher (TEL) vehicle is derived from a Belarusian MZKT-7930 3 , 6 high-mobility 8 x 8 chassis , which has good crossing capabilities and can operate on difficult terrain. It is operated by a team of three people: a driver, a commander and a systems operator. The vehicle can initially remain in active standby for five days after deployment, but this can be extended to thirty days if joined by a support vehicle 3 . They can also fire independently of their command vehicle, if necessary. The Russians are also offering a radar vehicle with "over the horizon" capability .(BVR) to equip their Bastion-P batteries. It is also designed on the MZKT-7930 chassis. The Russians also sometimes use their Ka-31 early warning helicopters to perform this function 3 .
The system works with a command post vehicle based on the KamAZ-4310 1 6×6 truck.
