We've all seen digital collages, but the question I'd like to ask you is: when you see these images, what story do you think they tell? You see, collages can be so much more than an image made out of cuts and collages. They can remind someone of their history, they can represent anything that someone deeply loves, they can represent history, or they can just be emotional. Working in an exploratory way in order to express feelings and stories artistically is essentially the definition of finding the creative journey, as opposed to finding the end result. We need to stay present along the way to keep our creative process going and I want you to do that.

In this lesson, we'll explore the steps of creating a collage for a purpose. I'll be using the Procreate app on an iPad Pro, but you can use any software you want. (If you want to follow along using traditional techniques, don't worry, I have tips for doing that too!) We'll have fun with unique compositions, but I'll also show you how digital work gives us limitless options. to highlight our work.
